About

Jenn Ronald

I am a  Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists.

I am also a wife and Mother to 4 young kids - who constantly keep me on my toes.  I provide evidence-based treatment for children (10+), youth, and adults.

Counselling is an opportunity for you to reconnect with what works for you. I will work collaboratively with you to help you recognize and build on your own strengths, skills, and competencies - empowering you to be confident and independent. Problems have an infinite number of solutions, and I will work with you to help you to develop strategies and solutions that fit for you.

Core Beliefs:

  • One of the roles of therapy is to provide support to individuals as they struggle to overcome challenges, to understand themselves, and to reach a greater level of happiness. I encourage you to recognize your own strengths, skills, and competencies, empowering you to be confident and independent.

  • I believe that therapy should provide hope, a hope that change is possible.  Confucius once said that: "Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."  My goals is to help create a space where others can find the faith, courage, and support they require to rise after they fall.

  • To me, a counsellor is someone that will not stop listening to you just because you have something unpleasant to say. I believe that there is something powerful that is created within a truly empathetic and accepting relationship. The power to change comes through a relationship where people feel truly seen, and heard.

  • I believe that people do not tolerate suffering passively; they will act to overcome challenges in a variety of ways (such as mentally, emotionally, or behaviourally). Sometimes these responses skills can go unnoticed, thus, exploration of them can result in empowerment
